I READ with concern John Maden’s letter (View Points, August 24), entitled ‘Clarity on EU Law’.
What on earth did Gordon Brown and Ed Miliband sign up to a few years ago?
What was the content of the so-called Lisbon Treaty which we were not allowed to have a say?
I can remember beforehand, Tony B-liar saying that it was just a tidying-up exercise.
What would our fathers and grandfathers of my generation, who fought in both world wars, think of our nation today?
I dread to think.
We have been lied to time and again, and no government will have the courage to allow us a referendum on Europe.
They know what the voters will say – a resounding no to staying in.
What price democracy and free speech?
