PUPILS, parents and staff at Woodstock Primary School organised a fete in 1978 and raised £300 for the Parent-Teacher Association. A new duplicator was one of the items on the association’s shopping list. Anne Long, left, and Alison Fowler, both 10, are pictured immediately below with a stuffed penguin, which was raffled.
An obstacle race was one of the events at a sports day at Marlborough School in 1983. Phil Walsh, seen in the middle picture, got stuck in a tyre and needed a helping hand from fellow pupils.
In the bottom picture, schoolgirls are seen helping out at Spencer Court care home in 1972. Matron Mrs C Jenkins, left, hands out drinks, while her daughter, Sharn, cuts a cake. On the right is Kathryn Godfrey pouring a drink for a resident.
Can anyone recall the celebration?
