IN reply to “A fairer system’s needed” from councillors John Sanders and John Tanner: it is interesting to see their call for an early morning parking control in Sandhills.

This would be a waste of time as NSL, which holds the contract, seems incapable of performing the parking control duties for which they are already employed by the county council, let alone do more.

It does not patrol Sandhills but only responds after a barrage of telephone calls. If it did so, it would not only fine those commuters who use Sandhills as an overspill car park, but those residents, who blatantly ignore the parking regulations, leaving their cars outside other residents houses or on the pavement.

It will also be interesting to see if our local representatives maintain their care for the residents of Sandhills, as we only ever see or hear from them when they want something. After that, they disappear and Sandhills becomes the forgotten parish again.
