YOUR article ‘Sort it out Mr Gove’ (Oxford Mail, front page, August 29) over GCSE regrading/degrading, and the calls for an independent enquiry, are unlikely to have any impact on Michael Gove.
He is at best a tiresome volcano who spits and coughs lava, which he mistakes for policy, and at worst a wild and reckless ideologue. That edition of the Oxford Mail nowhere mentions Melinda Tilley, Oxfordshire County Council ’s cabinet member for education, and an ardent supporter and promoter of all things Govean.
Can we assume from her silence that Mrs Tilley is happy with the June entrants’ English GCSE results? It would be good to hear from her!
