IF YOU build it, they will come.
The Ministry of Defence would do well to abide by that adage.
If you plan to move thousands of service personnel and their families from Wiltshire to Oxfordshire, it stands to reason you need to give them somewhere to live.
Unfortunately the MoD has scaled back its plans to build 780 homes in the centre of Carterton by nearly a quarter.
Is it any wonder that without those homes, there hasn’t been a corresponding boost to the local economy?
Pressure must be put on the MoD to provide people with places to live, and then the area will finally reap the benefits of relocation.
