A school has been honoured for its international outlook and the links it has built up with pupils in other countries.
The Marlborough School in Woodstock was presented with the Government award earlier this month at a ceremony in London.
Organised by the Government's Department of Education and Skills, the International School Award recognises schools that encourage pupils to 'think and act internationally' all year round.
The Marlborough School has links with schools in Germany, France, Belgium, USA, Poland and Africa.
Assistant head and inter- national coordinator Clarrie Haynes attended the awards ceremony in London on October 11.
He said: "We are thrilled to be recognised in this way.
"Links with all our international partners have enriched our curriculum and given children and teachers a truly international pers- pective.
"It is also recognition of the hard work of our teachers in setting up and carrying through these international links and activities."
Josh Wyatt is one of the pupils who has visited schools as part of the Comenius Project, which was set up in 2003 and established links with schools in Germany and Belgium.
As part of the scheme, pupils from Woodstock worked on a number of projects with foreign students covering subjects such as the Battle of Blenheim and youth music and culture.
Josh said: "I've learned a lot about people my age in other countries and the visits to Germany and Belgium en- abled me to make friends from these countries."
