A FLOOD-HIT Oxfordshire village may need major work to prevent a recurrence of flooding problems.
Residents of Nuneham Courtenay suffered flash flooding twice in eight days.
Following a meeting on Wednesday night when engineers, councillors, landowners and residents discussed the issue, it emerged that the village's roads and structures could need "major surgery".
Engineers are to check the drains with cameras.
Residents Erica Simms and her partner Dean Jones, who had only just tidied up after the first flood when the second downpour came last week, say they are living in fear of the rain.
The floods wrecked their home's ground floor.
Ms Simms said: "We haven't ruled out our house still being a mess and our problems unsolved by Christmas."
On Wednesday, six soldiers from 29 Regiment, Royal Logistics Corps, based at Abingdon's Dalton Barracks, helped Ms Simms and Mr Jones tidy their home.
