WITNEY Children’s Centre has received a ‘good’ rating from education inspectorate Ofsted.
The centre, based at High Street Methodist Church, received the rating for its overall effectiveness and its capacity for improvement.
Inspector Joy Law said: “Witney Children’s Centre is a good centre and serves the needs of its community well. Leaders and managers set realistic and challenging targets to improve the health, safety and economic well-being of the local community.
“Parents comment positively on the difference the centre has made to their confidence, achievements, their lives and their children’s lives.
“The centre is particularly successful in its targeted work to support children and families who are in most need of support.”
The inspector said the centre worked in a catchment area that had higher-than-average unemployment and few employment opportunities.
The centre is run by Parents and Children Together (PACT), which runs seven children’s centres in Oxfordshire, and opened in 2007.
