FIVE pedestrians - including three children - escaped serious injury last night when a car hit them at Oxford's Heyford Hill roundabout.
Pc Matthew Clarke said the car crashed off the road at the roundabout at about 7.30pm on Saturday and struck the group.
The three children - two girls aged nine and five and a three-year-old boy - and their father all suffered injuries. A fifth person with them was not hurt, Pc Clarke said.
He added last night: "The children and their father have been taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital to be checked over.
"Their injuries are still being assessed, however they are not believed to be serious.
"The car driver, a man, is assisting police with their enquiries.
"The car has been recovered by officers and an investigation is under way into how the collision occurred."
Pc Clarke is appealing for any witnesses to call him on the police enquiry centre number 101.
