Ryan Brooks fired a double as Abingdon United staged a superb second-half display to beat bracknell Town 4-2 to reach the second qualifying round of the FA trophy But they did it the hard way, after twice throwing away the lead.

Bracknell started the stronger and had the better chances in a goalless first half.

Six minutes after the break, the game exploded into life when Brooks fired Abingdon ahead with an unstoppable shot, only for Bracknell to level just seconds later through Mark Anderson.

Within three minutes, Mark Simms had restored Abingdon's lead, stabbing home after Walker spilled the ball.

But Bracknell weren't finished, levelling with 20 minutes left after Simon Tricker's clearance fell to Ben Woozley.

Brooks then drove in his second from long range to give Abingdon the lead for the third time. This time there was no Bracknell revival.

Anaclet Odhiambo was again denied by Walker, who tipped the ball out for a corner.

However, he could do little, when, from the resulting corner, Odhiambo was brought down.

Ryan Curtin sent Walker the wrong way from the penalty spot.
