Ian Shore, coach of the Oxford University women's Boat Race squad, was delighted with the efforts of his new 2006/2007 group who managed three division wins in the Pairs Head on the Tideway, writes Mike Rosewell.
The victories came in the women's senior 3 and senior 2 coxless pairs, and the senior 4 double sculls, the latter crew made up of new president Emma Windham and Sarah Cornick, both of whom will be taking part in GB squad trials.
Shore has no fewer than eight crews entered in the forthcoming Fours Head.
Two other local wins in the Pairs Head came for Wallingford in the veteran pairs, Colin Cusack and Sean Morris winning yet again, while Oxford Brookes won the men's elite coxless pairs.
The girls of Headington School were the only local winners at the Reading Head, success coming in the junior 18, 15 and 13 quad sculls and the junior 18 singles.
