THE driver of a stolen car ran off after smashing into two parked cars in Kidlington.
The crash happened near the Squire Basset public house, in Oxford Road, Kidlington, on Friday.
Police said at about 6pm a silver-coloured Volkswagen Golf hit a grey BMW 325i and a black Jeep Grand Cherokee. A police car parked on the service road of the Oxford Road had one of its doors damaged while it was parked at the scene.
PC Steve Burchett, of Kidlington police, said: "Witnesses who saw the collision reported a man running away from the car. He stopped to talk to a group of people down an alleyway near to the pub and also ran past a woman walking her dog.
"I am keen to speak to anyone who saw the collision or saw the driver running off afterwards. I would also like to trace a couple who left the scene and went into the Squire Bassett public house. These people could prove to be key witnesses. Any information which may help piece together what happened is vital to the investigation and will be treated in the strictest confidence."
PC Burchett can be contacted at Kidlington police station via the police enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505, or if you do not want to speak to police or leave your name call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
