WE hope West Oxfordshire residents heed calls from Help for Heroes for more volunteers.
Oxfordshire co-ordinator Dave Lewis hopes to raise more money for the forces charity by getting extra volunteers on board.
The volunteers would attend events across the county to raise money and awareness, as well as visiting schools and groups to give talks.
West Oxfordshire knows more than most areas about the importance of helping servicemen wounded in action overseas.
Most months now, thousands of people from the district gather in Carterton and elsewhere to pay tribute to fallen servicemen.
West Oxfordshire has proved an example to the country with the way it has dealt with repatriation ceremonies in the past year.
We now hope the district can become a shining example with the number of people volunteering for Help for Heroes.
