PEOPLE from Oxford’s diverse cultures came together for a special celebration.
Oxford and Banbury-based charity EMBS ran the event at Restore Garden Cafe, Manzil Way, off Cowley Road, on Saturday.
About 70 people enjoyed music, food, folk dancing, face painting and other activities.
Among them was belly dancer Kay White, 52, from Abingdon, with her troupe Ashnah.
She said: “It was wonderful, very relaxing and it was lovely to be able to get together with other cultures and just network.”
Zahid Bhatti, manager of EMBS, which provides qualifications and skills to help people find employment or go on to further or higher education, hailed it a success.
He said: “We wanted to give back to the community and provide a platform for everybody to come together and build more community awareness and cohesion.
“It was one of the first events we have done on this type and the feedback was that people from different countries were all interacting and learning together.”
