THE North Oxford Community Centre in Summertown officially opened its new £120,000 annexe in the presence of the city's Lord Mayor, Jim Campbell.
Sixty members of the North Oxford Association and people who donated money to the project attended the event at the centre in Diamond Place.
The development, which completes the rejuvenation of the centre begun in 2005, includes an activity room, a small kitchen and a courtyard with planted beds.
Rita Harris, editor of the North Oxford Association Newsletter, said: "It was a lovely sunny morning for the opening and everyone enjoyed themselves."
The centre is already taking bookings for activities to be held in the annexe and is looking for new members and volunteers to help with the running of the expanded centre.
