THE seat in the House of Lords formerly occupied by the Bishop of Oxford, the Rt Rev Richard Harries, has been taken by the Bishop of Ripon and Leeds, the Rt Rev John Packer.
The Bishop, who retired last year, continues to sit in the Lords as a life peer.
