POLICE have extended the bail on a motorist arrested after a road crash which killed a family on the A34.
The 59-year-old man from Leicester had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the seven-vehicle crash on July 31 on the northbound carriageway at the Islip junction.
Malcolm Dowling, 46, his wife Janice, 42, and their sons Richard, 16, and George, 11, from Staffordshire, died in the crash.
The motorist, who has not been named by police, was arrested in September and released on police bail until yesterday.
Police spokesman Victoria Bartlett said inquiries were continuing.
