BOTTLED water is being handed out in Clanfield, after residents complained about discoloured tap water.
Thames Water stressed the tap water was safe to drink, but villagers have been given access to free bottled water if they feel uncomfortable with the murky water from their taps.
One Clanfield resident, who did not want to be identified, said: "I rang Thames Water and was told that there had been some contamination of the water supply - but when I spoke to my neighbours they didn't know anything about it."
Thames Water spokeswoman Hilary Bennett said: "There has been some discolouration to the water which we are investigating. The water has been tested and it is safe.
"But we have made bottled water available outside the Plough pub."
Thames Water received ten calls from customers in the village about the dirty water.
