SIX cows loose on the road have closed the A34 in both directions.
The road is closed between the Pear Tree and Botley interchanges.
Police said the southbound carriageway was closed at 8.56am and the northbound six minutes later.
A police spokesman said: "The farmer has just got to the scene."
