No-one will be surprised that ruthless killer Allan Kimber has been found guilty.
He put forward the flimsiest defence we have heard in a long while to the jury at Oxford Crown Court.
Fortunately, the jury refused to be taken in by his lies and found him guilty of murdering Gary Morgan, the husband of his former wife.
The only surprise was that it took them nearly eight hours to do so.
Kimber's defence team suggested initially that his former wife, Helen, who later married Mr Morgan, could have been responsible for his death.
Then came the bizarre story about how Kimber had sold the pistol, which had been used to kill Mr Morgan, to a man he knew only as 'Tosh', implying that 'Tosh' was the killer.
Kimber tried to pull the wool over the jury's eyes but, thankfully, failed.
He was not prepared to admit his guilt, but was happy to blame innocent and fictitious people.
He will have plenty of time to reflect on his crime during his 30-year sentence, which is well deserved.
