The Eastern bypass is expected to remain closed until late into the evening after a truck toppled over on to a car this morning.
Three people had a miraculous escape when the 26-tonne concrete mixer lorry overturned.
The crash happened 20 metres north of Blackbird Leys Road flyover on the Eastern Bypass at 9.15am.
The woman driver and the male front seat passenger in the silver Astra and the male driver of the lorry were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, but incredibly suffered only minor injuries.
Police have closed the northbound carriageway from Rosehill roundabout to Garsington Road.
Fire crews and a specialist recovery vehicle are on the scene, but the road is expected to remain closed for most of the afternoon and possibly into the evening.
The site of the crash is the same spot where there was up to four feet of flood water after heavy rainfall last week and today's heavy rain has disrupted the roads across the county again today.
However, accident investigators who are on the scene, have yet to reach conclusions on exactly what caused the accident.
