ANIMAL rights protestors from across the country are expected in Oxford tomorrow as campaign group Speak hold their latest demonstration against Oxford University's new laboratory.
Police are alerting members of the public to possible congestion and large crowds on Saturday afternoon as the protest passes through the city centre between 1.30pm and 4.30pm.
A police spokesman said: "Speak have worked closely with us in negotiating a route for their march and the details of their planned demonstration.
"We are hopeful that this event will pass off peacefully, with no criminal activity and minimal disruption to Oxford.
"We estimate around 800 people will take part in the event. Police resources will be visible across the city centre as we work to facilitate the protest, keep everyone safe and deal robustly with anyone who breaks the law."
Police said that although every effort would be made to avoid road closures, some routes would be reduced to one lane as the march passes through.
