FORMER Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire Sir Hugo Brunner is entering the final stages of his walk across the county.
The 76-year-old is walking the 65-mile Oxfordshire Way to raise money for Oxfordshire Family Mediation (OFM), which provides support for families going through divorce.
Last night he reached Rycote, near Thame, after walking from Beckley.
On Wednesday he visited Dr South School in Islip, where he met current Lord Lieutenant Tim Stevenson who spent the afternoon walking with him.
Lizzie Irons, director of OFM, was at the school. She said: “Sir Hugo talked to the children about his walk and what a Lord Lieutentant does. We have had lovely walking weather so far but even if the weather was bad it wouldn’t stop him.”
