STUART Beavon bagged a brace as Didcot preserved their unbeaten away run with a 4-2 win at Lymington & New Milton in the British Gas Business Southern League Division 1 South & West on Wednesday.

Goals from Ian Concannon and Paul Powell saw Didcot storm into a 2-0 lead in the first 23 minutes.

But a defensive mistake then allowed Lymington's top-scorer James Stokoe to claw one back.

After the break, Didcot created chance after chance before a double in the space of three minutes from Beavon killed the hosts off.

Seconds later, Beavon was desperately unlucky not to get a hat-trick, having one effort ruled out for off side and another when his shot hit the crossbar.

Lymington got one back through Matt Bowler, but it was too late.

The victory lifts Stuart Peace's side to eighth in the table.

DIDCOT upset the odds to beat Premier Division side Cirencester with ease in Saturday's incident-packed Southern League Errea Cup second-round tie.

Didcot took the lead in the 21st minute when superb work from Paul Powell set up Stuart Beavon.

The key moment arrived in the 36th minute and it proved a highly controversial one as Cirencester's Shaun Dyke was sent off for feigning a punch towards a linesman.

Didcot's numerical advantage told in the second half and two goals in the space of three minutes from Beavon and Ian Concannon settled things.

Then Beavon's deep cross was met with a thumping header from Heapy to make it 4-0.

Chris Webb made two brilliant saves to preserve a rare Didcot clean sheet.
