Train services between Oxford and Banbury were disrupted by signal problems.
Network Rail engineers were called in at about 5.25pm on Wednesday to tackle the malfunction at Kings Sutton. The problem, caused by a power failure, was solved by about 7pm.
First Great Western and CrossCountry trains between Oxford and Banbury, and Chiltern Railways services between Banbury and Bicester North were affected.
Network Rail spokesman Chris Denham said: “We were able to run trains by about 7pm after a generator was used to restore power.”
