WE are living in a time of high unemployment, cuts in services and poor economy.
It is heart-warming to read of ‘Ma’ Smith providing meals for homeless people in Oxford (last Friday’s Oxford Mail).
I feel saddened to read the city council has stopped funding.
It reveals a rather Scrooge-like, defeatist and mean attitude, especially when we read in the Oxford Mail there is money in the coffers for local charities.
