DRIVERS were arrested and cars seized during a police operation in North Oxford on Tuesday.
Three men were arrested and two cars were taken away as part of the automatic number plate recognition operation in Banbury Road.
The ANPR equipment scanned 1,678 registration plates of cars travelling into Oxford.
Once the plates had been checked against a number of databases, officers pulled over any vehicles they were interested in.
One man was arrested on suspicion of theft, one for driving without a licence or tax, and another for not having a licence and on suspicion of not paying for petrol at a filling station.
