A 24-year-old man arrested by an armed response unit last night in Oxford city centre will appear at Oxford Magistrates' court this morning.
Kojo Ritchie, of Hambleside, Bicester, was arrested on suspicion of assault and firearms offences in Thames Street at about 6pm last night.
The black BMW he was travelling in was stopped by police in a planned operation.
Another person travelling in the car was not arrested.
Ritchie has since been charged with actual bodily harm, false imprisonment and two charges of criminal damage relating to incidents between May 29 and 30 and on June 5 in Oxford.
