FOUR of the flood alerts issued in Oxfordshire over the past two days are no longer in force, after water levels fell.

The Environment Agency says there is no longer a risk of the River Evenlode overflowing its banks along its course from Moreton-in-Marsh, in Gloucestershire, to Cassington, including Kingham, the Wychwoods, Charlbury and Long Hanborough.

And the alerts covering the River Glyme at Wootton and Woodstock, the Langford and Wendlebury Brooks and their tributaries from Stratton Audley downstream to the M40 near Merton, including Bicester and Wendlebury, and the Ginge Brook in the Steventon and Sutton Courtenay areas have also been lifted.

Flood alerts remain in force on the following watercourses:

  • The River Thame, including Thame, Shabbington, Ickford, Waterperry, Wheatley, Drayton St Leonard, Overy and Dorchester.
  • The Chalgrove Brook at Chalgrove and Stadhampton.
  • The River Ray and its tributaries from Shipton Lee to Islip, including Blackthorn and Murcott.
  • The River Ock from Watchfield to Abingdon, including Stanford in the Vale, Charney Bassett, Lyford and Garford.
