I have been an Oxford United supporter for more than 50 years and I am feeling there is a singular lack of ambition at the club after reading your sports pages (Oxford Mail, June 8 and yesterday).

They have already lost one good midfield player in Asa Hall and I think are on the way to losing another in Adam Chapman.

It is worth noting just how many midfield players have come into the club, most of whom have failed to make their mark.

One exception was Dannie Bulman. He came from Crawley, did a good job for us, went back to Crawley, did well again – also worth noting they got promotion.

Also it would seem they are intent on getting rid of James Constable as soon as they get the right price, if they can persuade him to go. If they do and then give some money to Mr Wilder for a striker he has already proved he can’t pick strikers, going on the samples so far brought in – and also losing Midson who has proved his worth when played in his correct position by other teams.
