RESIDENTS in North Oxford and Summertown have been left without electricity this morning following a power cut.
Southern Electric spokesman Hannah Gleave said about 470 homes in the area had been affected, with power going off at 6am.
Properties in Marston Ferry Road are among those without power and engineers are working to fix the fault.
Ms Gleave said: “By 8am we managed to reduce the number of customers affected to 220 but they remain without power.
“Engineers are on site and have located an underground cable fault.
“We are now bringing in generators to reconnect customers in Marston Ferry Road, Ferry Pool Road and Banbury Road but we can’t say how long it will be before power is back on.
“We apologise to customers who have experienced the power cut.”
