Cyclists caught riding on the pavement in Iffley Road were fined by police officers.
Pc Jonathan Stanley and Pcso Helen Duffield issued eight £30 fixed penalty notices to cyclists flouting the rules between 4pm and 5pm on Friday.
The action came after residents voiced concerns about cyclists riding on the pavement.
The police neighbourhood team has pledged to carry out further random checks.
In a seperate operation, more than 30 cyclists, including a unicyclist, who were found committing offences in Summertown were let off a fine last month. Instead, officers asked each one to instead fill in a questionnaire.
