Let's hope that we have all had a lovely time celebrating the Queen’s 60th jubilee.
But please do not mislead or disappoint the public.
As I read a celebratory menu in a cafe in Blewbury advertising ‘high tea’, I mentioned to a member of staff that, in fact, their ‘high tea’ was actually ‘afternoon tea’, as the former usually has a light, cooked element to it.
I was told (with a northern accent) it all depends on where you come from!
Is that indeed the case? Not according to the dictionary.
