Sir, Collectively or individually, we are constantly striving for more.
More progress, more money and more time. What is needed in a beautiful city such as Oxford is a lot more of less.
Less development, less traffic, less pollution and fewer people.
Of course, the huge proposed Westgate development will bring more to the city. More retail outlets, more jobs and more revenue. Inevitably this development will bring more problems to a city already under considerable strain.
Oxford is not a modern city, it is a medieval city constrained by the University, topography and Green Belt' legislation.
The proposed Westgate development could become the final nail in this fine city's coffin. Time to call a halt and demand that less really become more.
