I wish the people of Oxford would stop having a go at the bus drivers while all the roadworks are taking place around the city.
Just because council staff have planned to implement all the repairs and modifications at the same time, how would they like to be a bus driver trying to run a bus on time?
I regularly use the route via the Green Road roundabout at Headington and the city centre, and there is no way any of the buses can keep to a schedule.
It might take up to to 50 minutes to successfully negotiate all the roadworks.
I wouldn't want the driver's job at any price now, and for them to suffer the verbal abuse I have heard lately has been totally uncalled for.
Yes, we all want a stress-free journey to work and to appointments, and to get there on time, but with the current situation, this is not possible, and tolerance would make at least the driver's life a bit more bearable.
It is not their fault - if you want someone to blame, blame those who have organised the timetable of roadworks in Oxford.
