ROYALS fan Gladys Jarvis has the perfect gift for her 90th birthday – a ticket to the Queen’s Jubilee Garden Party.
The 89-year-old Summertown resident was nominated for a place at the Henley bash next month by her family.
Mrs Jarvis, who treasures a mug from the Queen’s Coronation in 1953, said: “I’m very excited and looking forward to it.”
The party, organised by the Lord Lieutenants of Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, takes place at Henley Business School on June 25.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will be there along with about 4,000 guests. More than 6,000 entered the ballot for tickets.
Mrs Jarvis, who lives in a retirement flat in Diamond Court, will be 90 in October so her grandson John Allen, 42, and wife Shauna, from Abingdon, applied for tickets.
Mrs Jarvis, who found out earlier this month that she had been picked, will be going with her daughter Ann Allen.
Mrs Allen, 67, from Kennington, said: “They thought it would be a lovely birthday surprise for her.
“She is very patriotic.”
