PATRIOTIC cupcakes featured at a Jubilee cake sale and hat-making competition at a North Oxford primary school.
St Aloysius Primary School’s 230 pupils have been learning about the Queen in preparation for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and were asked to make their own hats.
Six-year-old Isaac Green, pictured above with headteacher Tom Walker, was judged to have made one of the best Jubilee hats at the jubilee cake sale on Friday, organised by the school’s parent teacher association.
Mr Walker said: “The PTA organised a Jubilee cake sale and we thought it would be nice if pupils made their own hats.
“I really liked Isaac’s top hat with lots of little Union Jack flags stuck to it.
“Pupils have been learning about the Queen in assembly and everyone is looking forward to the Jubilee weekend.”
Isaac, from Oxford, added: “I’m looking forward to the Jubilee.”
The four winners were given book vouchers as prizes.
