CHILDREN across Bicester will be raising a mug to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Youngsters at all nine primary schools and a string of nurseries and pre-schools will be given a Jubilee mug as a memento of the special moment in history.
Bicester firm EP Barrus sponsored the 3,600 mugs which have the official Jubilee logo on the front.
Town councillor Richard Mould said: “It’s been absolutely brilliant. The kids were all happy to see the mugs.”
Langford School pupils Ben Staples, eight, and six-year-old Jessica Durbin are pictured with their mugs, which were handed out to schools across the town last week. Ben said: “I think I will treasure it forever.”
The final batch of mugs were delivered to Glory Farm School on Friday by Mr Muir and Bicester MP Tony Baldry.
Jason Slaymaker, chairman of Bicester Jubilee Steering Committee, said: “Every child who is attending a Bicester primary school will receive a mug and no doubt they will be cherished and kept as a lasting memory of the Bicester Jubilee celebrations.”
