Demand from sole traders looking to bring their businesses out of the back bedroom has sparked a major expansion by a company providing office accommodation.
The Clarendon Enterprise Centre will open its third and largest Oxford development to date at Prama House, the former Oxfam building on the corner of South Parade in Summertown.
There will be 30 offices spread over 6,000 sq ft in the building which has cost £340,000 to fit out.
Managing director Julian Cooper said there would be room for 55 tenants including those using the building as a "virtual office" or hiring out the board room and meeting spaces on a short-term basis.
He is also keen to promote "office shares" with individuals able to split the cost between them with tenants enjoying features such as broadband, air conditioning and a professional telephone answering service.
Mr Cooper added: "We have had a lot of interest already - Summertown is a very desirable location with good access to the city centre and the ring road."
The Clarendon Enterprise Centre was set up in 1998 by Mr Cooper, his father Ken and uncle David, who are also directors of the business.
It expanded to Belsyre Court, Woodstock Road, in 2002 followed by a Bournemouth office in 2004.
Currently it has more than 150 clients locations which will pass the 200 mark once Prama House is officially opened in December.
