Old boys and girls are being asked to help fill the gaps in the history of a school on an Oxford estate.
Headteacher David Lewin said little is known about the past of Wood Farm Primary School, which is celebrating its 50th birthday.
He is hoping the anniversary will see former pupils, parents, teachers and anyone else with a connection to the school coming forward to fill in the blanks.
Meanwhile, present pupils have temporarily ditched their spelling lists for spades to plant 250 golden daffodil bulbs to bring a dash of colour to the school next Spring.
Planting began on Friday and over the course of this week every child in the school's eight classes will plant a bulb around the playground.
Mr Lewin said he wanted to compile a record of the school as part of the anniversary celeb- rations.
He said the aim was to bring together stories about the school's past to put on the history section of the school's new website.
He said: "We would be very interested to hear from people who have had an association with the school over the past 50 years.
"I'm interested to find out all about why the school was established in the first place and how it came to be built here.
"The project will be run by the children so I will be letting them put forward the questions.
"The kids really enjoyed planting the bulbs. They had a lot of fun.
"We had some of our youngest children planting the bulbs on Friday with some of our oldest children."
Anybody who has memories of the school over the past 50 years should contact Mr Lewin at 2589@wood-farm.oxon.sch.uk
