A DRUG dealer tried to swallow his stash only to vomit it back up in front of police.
Waqas Khan, who has six previous drug offences, was spotted on CCTV selling narcotics in the centre of Oxford at about 1pm on January 18.
When police swooped in Shoe Lane, at the rear of the Clarendon Centre, the 19-year-old tried to swallow 10 wraps of heroin but was unable to keep them down.
Prosecutor Paul Harrison said a subsequent search of Khan’s house in Furlong Close, Blackbird Leys, yielded 19 wraps of crack cocaine and £621 in cash.
In total the drugs were worth about £300, Mr Harrison said.
Khan, who admitted two counts of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply, has two identical previous convictions.
The court heard he had also been convicted of possessing cocaine and heroin for personal use.
Nick Cotter, defending, said his client “shows a great degree of naïvety and, quite frankly, he needs to grow up and pretty fast because he has allowed himself to fall under the pressure and coercion of others who are long-standing drug users”.
Judge Christopher Compston said he was sceptical of Khan’s naïvety, noting that when arrested he told an officer: “Why should I talk to you? You are nothing”.
Khan was sent to a young offender institution for 30 months.
