THE issue of travellers can be an emotive one.
But rules are there to be obeyed for both travellers and non-travellers.
In Eynsham there are two traveller sites – one which is legal and another which is not.
Each case needs the rules applying fairly.
The illegal site still being occupied needs action to stop the rules being flouted further.
However, the legal site needs fair treatment too and it seems highly unusual to add a planning condition stipulating the land can only be used as such a site if kept in its current ownership.
The planning rules must work both ways.
