AN 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murdering a musician in Rose Hill is this morning still being held by detectives, a police spokesman said.
The teenager was arrested early yesterday following the death of 29-year-old Aaron Buron.
Mr Buron was stabbed in the chest in St Martin's Road, Oxford, and pronounced dead in hospital.
The initial 24 hours police had to hold the teenager have expired and a Superintendent will have granted detectives a further 12 hours now to continue to question him.
Part of St Martin's Road remains cordoned off this morning.
Mr Buron, known as AZ, was a local hip hop musician.
Police were called by paramedics to St Martin's Road just before 11.30pm on Saturday.
Mr Buron was rushed to the John Radcliffe Hospital but was pronounced dead there.
A post-mortem examination yesterday confirmed he died from stab wounds to the chest, a police spokesman said.
