YOUNGSTER Joshua Barber put all his weight into digging in his school garden.
The Stanford in the Vale Primary School pupil is one of 35 children in the after-school gardening club.
And on Wednesday they planted seeds and saplings donated by the village Co-operative store as part of its eco week.
Joshua, six, said he liked digging, planting and watching plants grow. He added: “I love gardening.”
Youngsters Charlie Palmer, nine, and Ollie Palmer, five, are also club members.
Their mum Tracy Palmer, 34, said: “They love being outdoors and they love getting dirty.”
Year one teaching assistant Sue Finney has been running the garden club for eight years.
She added: “The children absolutely love gardening.
“It shows them the whole life cycle.”
