POLICE have today appealed for motorists to show calm and avoid queueing out of petrol stations into roads as the panic grows over the fuel dispute.
Reports of queueing at petrol stations continue to increase across the county and country - reaching the point where Dorset Police have advised their petrol stations to temporarily close.
In Oxfordshire, Thames Valley Police said to “avoid queuing out of the forecourt at petrol stations, and to check travel websites for further information.”
They have also told motorists to drive as sensibly as they can to conserve their fuel.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue are also advising people against filling up any jerry cans to hoard petrol or diesel.
Petrol stations in Cowley, Abingdon, central Oxford and many of the surrounding towns and villages have reported major queues as a result of the panic.
