BANBURY: A 57-year-old man from the town has died after being hit by a train at a railway station in North Oxfordshire.
British Transport Police (BTP) officers were called to Heyford Railway Station on Tuesday night following a report of a man’s body on the line.
Spokesman Jenny Dickens said BTP officers were alerted at 7.25pm and the death was being treated as unexplained.
Services were suspended in both directions between Oxford and Banbury while emergency services dealt with the incident and the line was reopened shortly after midnight.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
