A TEENAGE cyclist needed hospital treatment yesterday after her bike was involved in a collision with a car in Wallingford.

The 15-year-old girl was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford following the collision with a black Ford Mondeo in Atwell Close at 6.45am.

Police spokesman Adam Fisher said the teenager was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg and pelvis.

Traffic was diverted away from the area while police investigated the accident.

Paul Clark, 46, an unemployed dustman living in Station Road, said: “Shortly before 7am I heard a girl crying and I looked out of the window and saw the police cars.

“The girl had been on her pushbike and the Ford Mondeo’s windscreen was all smashed up.

“I hope the girl makes a swift recovery.”
