TWO people have been taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after a crash on the A44.

The southbound carriageway near the London Oxford Airport turning at Langford Lane is currently closed.

One lane of the northbound carriageway is also blocked and drivers are advised to avoid the area.

A police spokesman confirmed they were called to an accident involving a white Smart car and silver Subaru shortly before 12.30pm.

One person was freed from their vehicle and two casualites were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Traffic is being diverted down Langford Lane and the A4260.
