THERE will be thrills and spills aplenty in Oxford, after the circus rolled into town.
Zippo’s Circus set up shop in South Park yesterday for the first of a series of shows going on until Tuesday.
Acts include the Lucius motorcycle troupe, Yasmine Smart and her horses, and the Duo Delbosq clowns.
Leading proceedings is ringmaster Norman Barrett, who, at the grand age of 76, will be performing with Zippo’s in Oxford for the 12th time.
He said: “I look forward to every show. I’ve been doing this for years and I am still passionate about it.
“What we do is good, clean, exciting family entertainment, and the audiences in Oxford are always enthusiastic.”
Lucius Zafalon, 40, and his motorcycle team are back for the second year running, riding in the Globe of Death. He said: “We are looking forward to performing and entertaining everybody here in Oxford. Last year we had a great reaction.”
