TWO controversial new residents' parking schemes in Oxford have been given the go-ahead this morning.
Controlled parking zones will be implemented in the Divinity Road area and Magdalen Road north areas of East Oxford.
But a decision on whether a scheme will be put in place in the Magdalen Road south area has been postponed for about six months.
The idea is so council officials can see how the first two zones work before making a decision on the third.
Rodney Rose, county council cabinet member for transport, has this morning given the two schemes the go ahead.
About 20 campaigners gathered outside County Hall to protest against the plans. Permits will be £50.
